Mother Mary - Among Christians, Catholics have a characteristic devotion to Mary, mother of our Lord, the ultimate model of motherhood as we approach Mothers Day this Sunday. The upcoming Feast of the Visitation (Lk 1:39-56) tells of the joyous meeting of two expectant mothers - Mary and her older cousin Elizabeth - which points out occurs after an arduous journey by Mary on foot through Roman occupation. We join in a prayer of thanks for all mothers and female role-models in our lives who both light the way and ignite the spark to help our students to exemplify our College motto, Illuminare et Ardere, to light up and be on fire.
